Bernard began his professional journey in academia, where he honed his understanding of psychological theory and practice. This academic foundation paved the way for his transition into clinical work, eventually leading him to become a Senior Psychologist and Director of a prominent drug and alcohol treatment centre. During this time, he developed expertise in addiction therapy, trauma recovery, and the treatment of complex psychological issues.
For the past 25 years, Bernard has been in private practice, where he has been providing personalised therapeutic interventions for individuals seeking support for a wide range of mental health concerns. His approach is tailored to the individual, integrating a variety of psychological modalities to meet each patient's unique needs.
Bernard is trained in multiple therapeutic techniques, including Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Brief Strategic Therapy, allowing him to adapt his methods to best suit the challenges faced by his patients. In addition, he brings a holistic perspective to his work, integrating Buddhist Psychotherapy with traditional Western psychological approaches.
