Clinic operation on account of Coronavirus

BNC Latest Update – Consults during Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Behavioural Neurotherapy Clinic continues to provide support during the COVID-19 pandemic. Listed below are the current measures we have applied to comply with the latest Victorian Government public health requirements and current rules:

Restrictions on face-to-face sessions

While psychology is a permitted industry for the provision of health care, we are required to offer telehealth and remote sessions where possible, to minimise contact. Please consult with your psychologist if you think your situation qualifies for face-to-face sessions and your clinical needs will be discussed.

Wearing of masks or face coverings

All clients and psychologists or technicians must wear a face mask for appointments in the clinic. There are exceptions for clients in some circumstances. Please consult with your psychologist to discuss this further.

Please NO attendance at the clinic when unwell

Clients are asked to reschedule any face-to-face appointments or convert to remote, if they or anyone in their household are awaiting a COVID-19 test result, or have any symptoms of illness, including:

  • fever/chills
  • cough
  • runny nose
  • loss of smell/taste
  • sore throat
  • headache
  • muscle pain
  • stuffy nose
  • nausea
  • shortness of breath
  • vomiting
  • diarrhoea

In an attempt to further reduce risk for those attending the clinic, we are taking the following steps:

1.  Clients will be asked to wait in their car instead of the waiting room, and will be called in when their practitioner is ready. In this way the waiting room will be practically empty at all times.

2.  Hand sanitiser will be provided for compulsory use when arriving and leaving.

3.  During consultations and testing (IQ tests/Assessments) there will be a 2 meter separation between the client and practitioners, including the use of desk shields.

4.  QEEGs will proceed as normal, but with the technician wearing a mask and disposable gloves.

UPDATE: In line with the Victorian Government mandates, guardians accompanying children in our centre must be fully vaccinated, as well as any clients over the age of 16. Proof of vaccination will be required upon entry, you can learn more here about how to link your certificate to your Service Victoria app ( Please be reassured our staff at BNC will be fully vaccinated and we are committed to doing everything we can to keep our families safe.

We understand that some of the rules can be challenging. BNC is working hard to continue to provide psychological care for our clients during this time. We ask that you please adhere to these guidelines to reduce risk of COVID-19 and thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Please contact reception (03) 9848 9100 with any concerns.
